Putting structure to work
A repeatable top-down routine that turns structure into decisions.
A top-down routine
- Higher timeframe first — on the daily: trend, range, or transition? Mark the two or three levels that matter.
- Trading timeframe — locate price relative to those levels. Is there room to a target, or are you entering into a wall?
- State check — trending session or rotational session? Pick the matching playbook (continuation vs fade) and refuse the other.
- Level + signal — wait for price to reach your level, then demand a reaction: a sweep-and-fail, an absorption, a structure break on the lower timeframe.
- Risk from structure — stops go beyond the swing that invalidates the idea, not at a fixed dollar amount. If the structural stop is too big for your account, the trade is too big — skip it or size down.
Structure + positioning
Structure tells you where the decision points are; GEX tells you how price is likely to behave between them. A support test in positive gamma and the same test in negative gamma are different trades — the strongest reads come from stacking both. Then it is repetition. Replay sessions in the Arena and mark every swing, sweep, and structure break until the states are recognizable at a glance — that pattern library, not any indicator, is the real edge.
